You may have read in Monday’s blog about the effect the General Election is having on the housing market, as buyers and sellers are seemingly holding of on any decision until the new Government is in place and taxes and cuts are revealed. But that’s not the only way the Election is affecting decisions within the property world, plans to build 1,500 homes on the edge of Wantage, Oxfordshire. are being campaigned against by local MP Ed Vaizey, who believes the proposals to build should be put back until after the new Prime Minister is decided upon.
MP Vaizey has argued that the homes will hae a destabilising impact upon the town as they will add 35% to the town’s population by 35%. He aims to meet with the Secretary of State shortly after the Election to discuss the proposals and amend them to suit his ideas for the town.
