More Unable To Avoid Repossession Than Figures Show, According To Conservatives

Hows about this for statement, the Tories have come out and said they reckon twice as many families have been unable to avoid repossession than official Government figures suggest. Browns lot have said that repossessions are falling but Camerons crew say that the figure is being deliberately underestimated as it doesn’t include sell and rent back situations.

A sell and rent back is when a home owner can no longer afford the mortgage repayments and decides to sell the property to a company or individual who then rent the hoe back to the seller. With official figures showing there were 48,000 repossessions in 2009, this revelation from the Opposition would put the number closer to 100,000.
